Daughter of Bennett and Amanda Green Paul. She was first married to Oscar Barfield, who preceded her in death. On April 18, 1909, she was married to Maurice Short in Naylor. He died on Dec. 21, 1955. Survived by sons, Lester Short, Paul Short, Burton Short, Norman Short, and Joe Short; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Faherty and Mrs. Alley Beth Bertling, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
