A son of Maurice and Kathryn Paul Short, he and Mozella Cobble were married Oct. 28, 1933. Short worked for the Missouri Highway Department, was a school teacher in south St. Louis, and later worked as chief inspector for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Survived by his wife; two sons; a brother, Norman "Hi Power" Short; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren. (Southeast Missourian 2/25/01)
