Orvel Hatch Lynn, 94, died Sunday, August 19, 1984 in Burbank, California. He was born September 6, 1889 in Hatch, Utah, the son of Rasmus Hansen Lynn and Weltha Mariah Hatch. He married Hulda S. Morrell on April 4, 1912 in the L.D.S. Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. She preceded him in death on October 23, 1966.

He was an active member of the L.D.S. church, serving in many capacities, including Ward Clerk, Stake Ymmia, Stake Missionary and as a temple worker in the Los Angles Temple. He moved with his family from Utah in 1906 to colonize the North Big Horn Basin. He was a member of the Wyoming National Guard. He also worked on the Sidon Canal, the Crow Reservation Canal. He served as the Lovell Town Marshall and helped find the first Chevrolet dealership in Lovell.

Survivers include one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Iris) Kindred of Tujunga, California; two sons, Dr. Gerald O. Lynn of Burbank, California and Lawrence W. Lynn of Springville, Utah; a granddaughter that he raised, Mrs. Dallas (JoAnn) Penrod of Brigham City, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 1 son and daughter and 7 brothers and sisters.

Memorial Services were held Tuesday, August 21st in Tujunga, California with services also being held in Lovell, Wyoming on Friday, August 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Haskell Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
