Mack Barton, 88, of Winnfield, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 1977 in Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a native of Winn Parish and a retired log hauler.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Barton of Winnfield; two sons, Leonard Ray Barton of Cheney, Wash., and Charles Ray Barton of Winnfield; a stepson, Elton Johnson of Empire, Calif; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Winn of Amarillo, Tex., and Mrs. Wynema Wheeler of Hereford, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Annie Helen Banta of Winnfield; 23 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Southern, Winnfield, with Rev. Elton Gunter officiating. Burial was in Transport Cemetery, Dodson.
