We are sorry to chronicle the death of Mr. Jeremiah Hecox, which occurred Monday of last week. He was buried in the Iola cemetery on Wednesday. His funeral will be preached next Sabbath at Enterprise school house by Rev. Thomas Jobe, of Bronson, and Elder Brown, of Emporia.
Mr. Hecox was one of Allen county's old settlers, coming here from Hancock county, Ill. He was well known in Allen and Woodson counties as a good man and accommodating neighbor; the bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
