Samuel Murrah, 67, of 220 Southern Drive, Campbellsville, died at 2 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1983, at the Taylor County Hospital. He was a member of the Elkhorn United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for some 28 years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He retired from Ingersoll-Rand Company in 1981 after 11 years service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He united in marriage to Mabel Margaret Dabney March 2, 1938. To this union one son and one daughter were born: Eddie Joe Murrah died in infancy. Surviving is: Karen Wise of Campbellsville. Besides his wife, Mabel Dabney Murrah of 220 Southern Drive in Campbellsville and daughter, he is survived by one granddaughter, Christi Wise of Campbellsville; one brother and two sisters: O'Connell Murrah of Campbellsville; Helen Watson of Elkhorn, Route 1; and Rosalyn Stewart of Lexington; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Mike Brown and the Rev. Irvin Gaddis. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
