Louisa Malvina Lee was the youngest of the eleven children of Samuel Lee (1800-1853) and Mary Hackney (1805-1880). The Lee-Hackney families were members of the Quaker community who settled around 1790-1800 in the Newbury Monthly Meeting, now Friendsville, in Blount County, Tennessee. Samuel and Mary Lee migrated with their family and settled first in Polk County, Missouri around 1835. Later they moved to Robberson township in northern Greene County. Louisa M. Lee was born August 25, 1843 in Greene County, Missouri. After her father died in 1853 some of her siblings migrated by wagon-train to California while she, her mother and other siblings remained in southwest Missouri. For a while she, her mother and her next older sister, Susannah, lived with her brother, Richard Ishmael Lee in Greene County. On February 3, 1867 she married Elijah E. Thompson in Greene County, Missouri. In 1877 they moved to northern Stone County and settled on property located near McCullah Spring on the Old Wire Road. They were the parents of five children: Ursula (1868-1949), Walter (1871-1941), Mary Lillian (1875-1957) and twins Weldon (1879-1899) and Sheldon (1879-1880). She lived with her family in northern Stone County until her death July 14, 1929.
