Born at Canterbury, N. B., son of the late James and Theresa Phillips Walsh, he was a registered professional engineer and had resided in the Bangor-Brewer most of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and of the Pine Cone Council, Knights of Columbus of Bangor.
Surviving him are his wife, Madeline, Brewer; one son, T. Phillip, Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Evans Libby, Fairfield; two sisters, Margaret A. and Mary A. Walsh, both of Bangor; three brothers, Thomas H., British Columbia; James M., Bangor; and Stewart E., Bangor; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Remains will be taken to the residence of his sister, Margaret, 31 Sidney street.
Funeral services for John J. Walsh were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Brewer, Friday morning, the Rev. Thomas H. Moriarty, pastor, celebrant of a High Mass of Requiem.
Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery with Father Moriarty conducting the committal service.
