Augusta was the second child of Lars Christian Christensen, and Louise (Loise) Lizette Dorthea Augusta Walther (Danish immigrants).

She was born in Hurley, Turner County, South Dakota on her parent's farm. She moved with her parents and siblings to Baden Township near Kenmare, Ward County, ND, in 1900 where they purchased a Homestead.

Augusta graduated from the 8th grade in Kenmare, ND in 1912. Following graduation she attended summer school for three months and started teaching at the Tom Christensen school in Baden, ND, a little town by the overpass south of Kenmare. She had seven pupils. Next she taught at the Jens Hansen school 10 miles south of Kenmare, then was promoted to teach at the school in Kenaston, ND Ward County.

In Aug. 8, 1922 she married Arthur Ignatius Bentson b. Dec. 12, 1895 Lynn, McLeod County, MN and died Sept. 11, 1982 in Tacoma, Pierce County, WA son of Niels (Nels) Bentson and Christina Andersdatter, daughter of Ander Sorensen.

Art was a carpenter (general contractor) most of his life and served in the U.S. Army during WWI and WWII. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Art was in the National Guard for 17 years in Sydney, MT and at the approach of WWI in 1941 he brought his company to Camp Murray, Tacoma, WA. The family moved to Lakeview, WA. Augusta lived with Joy, her daughter, when it was determined that she could not live alone. Arthur had died two years earlier. They are both buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Tacoma, WA

Augusta and Art had six children all born in Montana.
