Born July 14, 1915 in Charleston, Wasatch County, to Hyrum Shurtliff and Sarah Van Wagoner Winterton. Married Beatrice Smith June 20 in Salt Lake City.

Survived by wife, Roosevelt; sons and daughters, Hal Smith Winterton, St. George; Janet W. Dye, Centerville; Lee W. Winterton, Nashville, Tenn.; and June W. Guymon, North Salt Lake; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Van, Omni, and Ralph Deloy Winterton; sisters, Luella Walker, Ruth Huff, Eva Kohkonen, and Stella Lewis.

Preceded in death by a brother, Harold and sister, Grace Simmons.

Funeral Monday, 11 a.m., Roosevelt LDS 6th Ward, 447 East Lagoon. Friends may call at the Olpin Hullinger Mortuary, Sunday, 7-9 p.m. and Monday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Burial, Heber City Cemetery 2:30 p.m.
