Ruth Happy, 87, East View Apartments, formerly of Rulo, passed away Saturday, July 6, 1985, at Northview Care Center, where she had been a resident since April.
A daughter of the late Robert T. Burns and Sophia Palmer Burns, she was born May 5, 1898, at Nebraska City.
On Oct. 1, 1916, she and Harry Gatewood were married in Omaha. They were later divorced. She and Floyd Happy were married in September of 1942 at Papillion. He died Oct. 8, 1973.
Mrs. Happy was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church at Rulo.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Gatewood, Clear Lake, CA; two daughters, Harriet (Mrs. Howard) Life and Helen (Mrs. John) Miller, both of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Marietta Burns, Rulo; 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Roy Gatewood, preceded her.
