Lester Burns was born February 27, 1903 at Britton, SD and passed away June 5, 1972 near Rulo, NE.

When he was an infant he was adopted by Robert Burns and Sophia Palmer Burns and he grew up at Nebraska City and attended the schools there.

He had traveled extensively with construction companies until his retirement about three years ago. He also was a bricklayer in the Chicago area.

June 5, 1926, he was married to Mariette Trampiets in Chicago. They lived in the Chicago area until moving to Rulo about three years ago.

Besides his wife, Mr. Burns is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) McIntyre, Mt. Prospect, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Happy, Rulo, and Mrs. Irene Watson, Clear Lake, CA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Mr. Burns was held at 3 p.m. this afternoon by the Rev. Alvin H. Smith. Arrangements were in charge of Chaney-Hodgens-Clark funeral home.

Bill Palmer, Falls City; Charles Vogele, Sr., Charles Vogele, Jr., Robert Adams, Tom Adams and Robert Kreutzer, all of Rulo, were pallbearers.
