Joseph Warren Lawrence died February 22, 1894 at his home in Douglas Township, Adams County, Iowa, age 50.
The funeral services were held under the auspices of Llewellyn Post at the home conducted by Rev. A. . M. Beman and the remains were intured in the Spaulding Cemetery. The deceased was born in Morgan County, Ohio June 13, 1844, came to Adams County when but eleven years of age and resided here until the time of his demise. He was in the service of his country during the late war. He served under Captain Ankeny in col. I, Fourth Regiment, Iowa Infantry. He was married to Miss Maggie Tracy July 4, 1868. The wife and nine children survive him. The afflicted relatives and friends are the recipients of unlimited sympathy.
