Noah Allen Bolton, born on 13 November 1867, at Springville in Linn County, Iowa and died on 19 May 1944, in Bloomfield, Knox County, Nebraska. He is buried in the Bloomfield Cemetery. Noah was the son of George Milton Bolton (1842-1918) and his wife, Rebecca Milvina Dunlap (1847-1915). The Bolton family can be traced back to could trace his Bolton lineage back to Henry Bolton (c. 1700-1756) of Pennsylvania. Noah's direct Bolton forefathers left Pennsylvania and settled in Rockingham County, Virginia before the War of Independence. They move to Harrison County in the later 1830s, in what later became West Virginia, and then to Linn County, Iowa just before the Civil War. Noah's father who was a farmer moved to Dixon County, Nebraska in 1874, after returning from the Civil War as a veteran of Company H. of the 24th Iowa Volunteer Infantry.
In late-1895, Noah married Emma Katherine Kamrath, whose parents had immigrated from Prussia and settled in Dixon County in 1867. They initially lived on his parents' farm at Daily in Dixon County. In 1903, Noah and Emma with their first three children moved to Bloomfield in Knox County, Nebraska where Noah bought a farm outside of town. They lived in Bloomfield for the rest of their lives and raised a family. They had nine children: Myrtle Odessa Bolton, William Clifford Bolton, Gertrude Gale (or Gail) Bolton, Harvey Bolton, Mamie Florence Bolton, Roy Louis Bolton, Ida (or Ina) Rebecca Bolton, Lena Katherine Bolton, and Gladys Mildred Bolton.
