WENATCHEE - Lillian H. Sterley, 80, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee and Stemilt areas, died Friday, May 13, 1994, in Central Washington Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born June 24, 1913, to Harry and Eva (Gulick) Buckles at Stemilt where she grew up and attended school. Following school, she moved to Wenatchee.
She married Everett Sterley on Jan. 9, 1931, at Cashmere, and they made their home at Wenatchee. They moved to Yakima in 1932 and Mrs. Sterley worked as a nurses aide at Yakima County Hospital. They moved back to Wenatchee in 1934 and she worked at the Kress Department Store and later at St. Anthony's and Deaconess hospitals. She later worked for Parkside Manor until retiring in 1966, due to ill health.
She was a member of the Wenatchee Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her husband, at home; a stepson, Bill Sterley of Waterville; a stepdaughter, Lila Wilson of Palermo, Calif.; a brother, Cecil of Wenatchee; three sisters, Ester Groff and Ella Myrtle, both of Wenatchee, and Carrie Bennett of Wallowa, Ore.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
