WENATCHEE - Cecil Samuel Buckles, 92, a lifetime resident of the Wenatchee area, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 1995, in Central Washington Hospital.

He was born July 24, 1903, to Harry and Eva (Gulick) Buckles in Malaga. He began his education in Malaga and completed his studies at Stemilt Hill before working as a farmer.

He married Eunice Carper on July 22, 1926, in Wenatchee and they lived on Stemilt Hill. They later moved to Malaga, where he worked as an orchardist for Leo Hill and Harold Weed. He retired in 1969, at which time he and his wife moved to the Colockum area.

Mr. Buckles was a member of the Stemilt Hill Community Church and a 50-year member of Wenatchee Eagles. He was Honored Pioneer for the Malaga-Colockum area for 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Helen Goodwin, Malaga, and Nona Fulwiler, Colockum; three sisters, Ella Myrtle and Esther Groff, both of Wenatchee, and Carrie Bennett of Wallowa, Ore.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 9, 1991, two sons, one daughter, one brother, two sisters and one grandson.
