DIED
Mrs. William Frakes died at her home five miles southwest of Salem on Monday,
September 18, 1905 aged 73 years, 1 month and 14 days. Mrs. Frakes took sick nearly
six weeks ago, and from the beginning on account of her advanced age her condition
was considered critical but not until her husband took sick was her life despaired
of. After his death, which occurred last Wednesday, she rapidly grew worse until
death finally relieved her of her suffering.

May Garner was born August 4, 1832 in Andrew County, Mo. In 1848 she was married to
William Frakes and together for the past fifty-seven years they have shared the
burdens of life, at last to lay them down, she having passed her three score years
and ten and he by reason of strength, his four score years, with only five days
intervening between their deaths. In life they were happily united and in death they
were not far separated.

To them were born five children, three of whom are living. They are James L. Frakes
of Hitchcock County, Nebraska, Mrs. Rachel Noland of Holt County, Missouri and A.J.
Frakes of this City. The deceased also leaves twenty-one grandchildren and
twenty-six great grandchildren, besides a large circle of friends and other relatives
who in memory will hold therein fond remembrance because of her generous nature and
kind disposition.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Crononberger of this city at the
Christian Church in Salem and the body interred by the side of her husband and two
deceased children in the Maple Cemetery.
