Son of Joseph and Ann Reeds Crouch. Husband to Sarah Barbary abt. 1749 probably in King George County, VA. and Elizabeth Cloud about 1793 in TN.

John and Sarah lived in Stafford, Halifax and Henry counties in VA before settling in Washington County, TN. John and Sarah were charter members of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. They had six children:
*Joseph Crouch (1749-1830)
*John Crouch (1756-1842)
*Jesse Hiter Crouch (1760-1841)
*James Crouch (1769-1850)
*Elijah Crouch (1770-1825)
*Martha "Patsy" Crouch (1772-1848)

John married Elizabeth and moved to Claiborne County, TN. There were no known children of this marriage though she had eight children from her first marriage.
