Jesse did not have a middle name. Jesse Hiter Crouch was his son. I and my father have been studying him and his ancestry and descendants, between us, since the 1960s. We are part owners of the house he built in Boones Creek, Tennessee. Of his twelve siblings, none had a middle name except maybe the youngest. Jesse was born in 1760. People whose middle name is Hiter were named after the Rev. William Y. Hiter born in 1778 referenced in the onlinebook Virginia Baptist Ministers, by Rev. J. B. Jeter, D.D. 1859.
