Eveline Houk, was born in North Carolina on the 26th of Sept. 1821, and came to Indiana with her father's family in 1834. On January 8, 1844 she was married to John Houk and lived with her husband at the old Houk homestead five miles northwest of Lancaster. To this union were born 13 children.
