Ada M. Brummitt, 82, of Olney, died at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend John Craig officiating. Burial will be Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Richland County.
Ada was born on December 1, 1926, in Richland County, the daughter of Walter F. Gardner and Lela (Crites) Gardner. She married Virgil E. "Jack" Brummitt on August 31, 1946, in Olney.
She was a housewife and loving mother. She worked as a store clerk for 13 years and at the post office for another eight years. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.
Ada is survived by son, Sam Brummitt and special friend, Amy Anderson, of Belleville, and Dan Brummitt, of Olney; daughter, Judy Westfall and her husband, Bob, of Olney, Karen Ellis, of Lawrenceville; brother, Ed Gardner, of Olney; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice in memory of Ada M. Brummitt.
