Kirkendall, Joseph L., 69, Rt. 1, Box 530, Camas Valley, died May 24, 1970, at a Roseburg hospital. Born April 15, 1901, Camas Valley. Married March 23, 1927, Roseburg, to Daisy Mae Thrush. He lived in the community all of his life. Member of the First United Methodist Church, Camas Valley. Survivors: his wife, Daisy, Camas Valley; 3 daughters, Mrs. Louise Smith, Camas Valley, Ardith Brock, Ronan, Mont., Ellen Jo Cunningham, Newark, Ohio; 2 sons, Lynn & Alvin, both of Camas Valley, a son Melvin preceded him in death; 4 sisters, Leta Pullen, Deadwood, Ore., Myrtle Tyberg, North Bend, Josie Claughton & Ethel Schmidt, both of Camas Valley; 2 brothers, Robert & Elmer, both of Camas Valley; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be hel Thurs. 2 p.m. at the Camas Valley First United Methodist Chruch, Rev. Ruth Cotton officiating. Interment will follow at the Noah Cemetery. LONG & SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL in charge of arrangements.
