Dorothy Jean (Reynolds) Philpot, 77, of 197 Hilltop Dr., Bedford, went to be with her Lord at 1:15 am on Monday, May 25, 2009 surrounded by her family.

She was born on Patton Hill on April 8, 1932 the daughter of James and Minnie (Patton) Reynolds. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose Lodge in Bedford and the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 1686 in Oolitic. She enjoyed playing bingo and she attended church at Holy Ridge in Needmore.

Survivors included three sisters, Lina McPherson and husband, Jim of Williams, Dolly Gaddy of North Carolina and Ruby Parenti of Patton Hill; one son, Michael R. Hayes of Bedford; two daughters, Bonnie Moser and husband, Bob of Heltonville, Loretta Dotts and husband, Tim of Mitchell; six grandchildren, Kim Reynolds, Robert Moser, Michael Hayes, Jr., Toby Hayes, David Hayes and Alissa Shoults; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Milford, Morris (Sparky), Noble, Thomas and James Reynolds; four sisters, Juanita Atteberry, Marie Boeck, Josephine Farris and Mildred Wood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 28th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Patton Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
