MITCHELL — George Thomas Reynolds, 82, Mitchell, died Monday at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born March 31, 1925, in Oolitic, he was the son of James and Minnie (Patton) Reynolds. He married Mildred Ruth Bush Nov. 18, 1966 and she survives.
He worked at Indiana Limestone in Oolitic and retired from Hancock Construction in Mitchell. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He was a member and past commander of the Mitchell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107, and a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion and Mitchell Senior Citizens.
Surviving with his wife, Mildred Ruth Reynolds, Mitchell; are two sons, Adrian Pridemore and Dennis Pridemore, both of Mitchell; grandchildren, Samantha Neir, Kyle Dunn, and Karla DuChamp; brother, Noble Reynolds, Oolitic; four sisters, Dolly Gaddy, Charlotte, N.C., Ruby Reynolds, Oolitic, Dorothy Philpot, Judah, and Lina Beth McPherson, Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; brothers, Morris and James Reynolds and an infant brother; sisters, Juanita Atterbury, Mildred Wood, and Josephine Farris and Marie Beck; and granddaughter, Sherrie Lynn Pridemore, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Memorial Chapel of the Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell with Brother David Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery with military rites accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 an Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers will be Adrian Pridemore, Kyle Dunn, David Terrell, Earl Elliott, John Burbrink and Lonzo Smith.
