She is the mother of Hezzie Franklin, Frennie Bell, Elbert "Cary", Clarnence Jackson "Puvey", Leslie Mae, Lillie Christine, Virginia Irene, Carl Everett, and Otha Raymond Wright.Chapman is the son of James A and Verlinda "Malinda" Wright. He is the husband of Virginia "Jennie" Brizendine. They married February 11, 1897. He is the father of Hezzie Franklin, Frennie Bell, Elbert "Cary", Clarence Jackson "Puvey", Leslie Mae, Lillie Christine, Virginia Irene, Carl Everett, and Otha Raymond Wright.

Chapman Johnson Wright was born January 12, 1872, and died September 21, 1936; aged sixty-four years, eight months and nine days. He is survived by his wife and eight children: four sons, Hezzie, Elbert, Clarence and Carl Wright; and four daughters: Mrs. J.T. Mayo, Mrs. Garrison Doughty and Virginia Wright, all of Barbours Creek; and Mrs. May Wood Hall, of Newport News. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Minister John E. Grasty, at the Cross Roads Church, on Wednesday, September 23rd. Burial in the church cemetery.
