Services for Mrs. Evelyn Henson, 72, of Muskogee were 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Hoffman officiating. Burial was in Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brett Collins, Berry Collins, Brutt Jordan, Ronald Riley, Brian LaFeve and Terry Elders.
Mrs. Henson was born June 25, 1913 at Wakefield, Kansas to Eldon and Hattie Stiner and died Saturday, September 28, 1985, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. In 1943, she married George Haskell Henson in Muskogee. He died in 1984.
She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and attended Bethel Baptist church. Survivors include four daughters; Alice Patricia Fairchild of Muskogee, Violet Sue Riley of Porter, Judith Evelyn Whittenberg of Wellston, and Petty Lou Stern of Muskogee; five step-daughters, Ruby Ann Horton of Portland, Missouri, Joyce Laverne Davis of Edmond, Vernoyise Evonne Ford of Wister, Mary Magdalene Ford of Norman, and Lawanna Yvonne Collins of Poteau; three sons, Phillip Clift Henson of Houston, Texas, George Henson Jr., of Coweta, and Michael Paul Henson of Braggs; a step-son, Gary Wayne Henson of Hesperia, California; a sister, Dora Alcorn of Noble; two brothers, Paul Stiner of Clinton and Richard Stiner of Hugo; 59 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren.
