FRANK CLIFT STRUCK SUNDAY, DIES WEDNESDAY
Death chalked up its thirteenth 1936 traffic victim for Oklahoma County Wednesday night when Frank Clift, 23 years old, died in Wesley hospital. His death marked the first traffic fatality here since six- year-old Mary Farmer was killed by a bus February 10th. Clift, 35 Northeast Second Street, stepped into the path of a car driven by Charles Lee, an automobile salesman in the 300 block south Robinson Avenue, last Sunday night. Since then, he has been unconscious. Lee who lives at 1130 Northeast Twentieth Street, said Clift "walked" into his car and he was unable to avoid the accident. Clift was formerly employed by a concrete contractor, having come here three years ago from Purcell. He had been a state resident all his life. He had started to his home after a visit with a friend when the accident occurred. Surviving besides his wife, Evelyn Clift, are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Clift, Purcell; four sisters, Mrs. Nola Creson, Mrs. Rose Berley, Mrs. Tom Dodd, all of Oklahoma and Miss Bill Clift of Purcell, and a brother Jasper Clift, Purcell.
