Thomas James "Jim" Ayers, Sr., 41, of 1212 Poinsettia Drive, Greensboro, NC, formerly of Pulaski, died Thursday morning at his residence. He was born April 6, 1944 in Pocahontas, VA. He is the son of Mrs. Frances Guynn Ayers of Pulaski & the late Tony Jacob Ayers, Sr. Surviving besides his mother are one daughter, Toni Elizabeth Ayers, Pulaski; two sons, Thomas James Ayers, Jr., Pulaski, Robert Lee Ayers, Pulaski; one sister, Mrs. Leila Dell Hurst, Nashville, TN; three brothers, Tony Jacob Ayers, Jr., North Hampton, MA, Tyler Jackson "Jack" Ayers, Pulaski, and John Lee Ayers, Nashville, TN. The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. from the Peak Creek Mission of Prayer Church, with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow in the Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Bob White Boulevard, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.
