Peter Mode--my husband's great grand uncle -- was born 22 October 1864 in Okawville Twp, Washington Co., Illinois, s/o Valentine Mode (1829-1870) and Katherine Schilche (1826-1900).
Peter married Elizabeth Coe Haskines on 27 September 1891 in Okawville, Ill. Together they had 7 children: (1) Della Mae Mode Buescher (1893-1989); (2) Minta Anna Mode (1895-1985); (3) Hallie V. Mode (1898-1999); (4) Oliver P. Mode (1900-1977); (5) Charles M. Mode (1906-?), 6) Delila Lila Mode (1907-?) and (7) Arthur M. Mode (1910-?).
Peter Mode was a farmer by trade and he and his wife celebrated their 60th anniversary together in 1951 before she died in 1953.
My husband and I would love to meet any descendants of this family and/or share additional pictures which add so much to our family tree.
