Minta never married, but after two years of college (do not know which one at this time), worked for insurance companies in Illinois all of her life.
In the 1920 census at the age of 24, she is a bookkeeper for a life insurance company in St. Clair County, Illinois and is a boarder with the Tebbenhoff family in Belleville, Ill.
In the 1930 census at the age of 34, she works as a bookkeeper for an insurance company in Madison County, Illinois and is living with her Uncle George Mode, 80, and aunt Kate Mode, 70, in Granite City, Ill;
In the 1940 census at the age of 44, she is working as an Assistant Cashier for an insurance company in Madison County, Illinois and is living alone.
Minta died at the age of 89 in Okawville, Washington County, Illinois--obviously a woman who could take care of herself as a single working woman from 1920 until the date of her death.
My husband and I would love to communicate with any descendants of this family.
