The place of burial for Stephen's father has not been found. He died after signing a deed selling water rights 11 March 1839 and before 1840 Census. Stephen and Abigail signed the deed. The story in Doty families in Morrow County say he was buried in "the lost Gardner Cemetery " thought to be by Alum Creek. Story in Doty family in Wisconsin is Stephen died while on a trip to Wisconsin.
I copied the inscription on his stone when I was there in 1982.
