Isaiah was son of Stephen W. Doughty, Jr & Nancy Gardiner of Lincon, Ohio. At age of 14 years he left Ohio with his Uncle Thomas Doughty and other related families and settled in Winnebago Co., WI. After leaving Ohio Isaiah spelled his name Doty as did his brothers and uncle's except for his Uncle Thomas Doughty. Thomas Doughty's descendants have been only ones to keep Doughty spelling to present time. He served in Civil War from WI. in Company B, 37 Infantry where he was a Drummer. His grandfather Stephen Doughty was a Drummer in the Revolutionary War in Maine. April 1847 Isaiah married Clarissa Statelor. Children were Josephus & Clarissa, In 1850 about two weeks after birth of daughter his wife died. In 1852 Isaiah married Elizabeth Statler, sister of Clarissa and children born to them were Frank & Eliza. In 1855 about two weeks after birth of daughter, his wife died. In 1866 Isaiah married Ellen Fox and they were parents of Arthur A., Stephen W., Wesley & Amy. Isaiah became well known for his cheese making. Isaiah's statements in his Civil War pension names his three wives, children and their birth dates.
