"Murphy Services Set For Tomorrow At Globe Church"
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Murphy, 78-year-old pioneer resident of Globe who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. O'Brien, following a long illness Sunday, will be held from the Holy Angels church here at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
The Ladies' Altar Society of the church will recite the rosary at the O'Brien home at 7:30 p.m. today with the Rev. Fr. Virgil Genevrier, pastor, leading.
Mrs. Murphy was born in County Clark, Ireland March 17, 1860 and came to the United states in 1880. After a brief stay in the east she went went to Montana in 1884 and came to Globe with her family in 1902.
In poor health since her son, Joseph, died two years ago, Mrs. Murphy had been bed-ridden since March. Her health had been failing rapidly for the past three months.
Prior to the time her health forced her to curtail her activities, she was active in church and fraternal circles. She was a member of the Woodmen Circle, the Homesteaders, the Woman of Woodcraft and the Catholic church.
Surviving are one son, Michael F. Murphy, deputy internal revenue collector of Globe; three daughters, Mrs. Kate O'Brien, Globe, Mrs. Nell Vaughn, Huntington Park, Calif., and Mrs. Mamie Crowe, New York City; and four grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Woodmen of the World plot of Globe cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
Members of Cactus Grove No. 13, Woodmen Circle will meet at the Catholic church tomorrow morning to attend the services in a body.
Mrs. Dee Crawford, guardian of the Grove, said this morning a meeting scheduled for tonight will be postponed on account of Mrs. Murphy's death.
