"The Murphy family came to Globe from Butte, Mont. and the members of the family have resided there since that time. Mr. Murphy worked for a long time at the Old dominion mine, and has since been interested in a number of mining properties throughout the district."
The esteem in which Joseph J. Murphy was held by the people of this community was clearly demonstrated yesterday afternoon when the body was laid to rest in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. There was a splendid tribute paid to the memory of the popular miner when his friends thronged Sacred Heart church to witness the final rites conducted by Rev. Father Genevrier and then escorted the body to the grave.
In the funeral cortege were twenty-six automobiles and four horse drawn vehicles, all filled with sorrowing friends.
