He died at the age of 43 at the home of his big sister, Mrs. W.H. O'Brien, following a long illness. He had heart trouble. Born in Butte, Mont., he came to Globe at the age of 9. He was employed by the Old Dominion company as a structural iron worker until an accident forced his retirement in May 1931. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Murphy of Globe; sisters, Mrs. W.H. O'Brien of Globe, Mrs. Eugene Crow of N.Y., and Mrs. Roger Vaughn of Calif.; and a brother, Michael F. Murphy, deputy Internal Revenue collector of Globe.
