Sarah Cecelia Knox, 97, of Sligo died at 8:03 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, June Phillips. A daughter of Robert H. and Blanche Morrison Brown, she was born Nov 18, 1893.

In 1913 she married Lawrence R. Knox, who died in 1957.

She moved to Bradford in 1921, and lived there until 1973, then moved to Marienville. In 1979 she moved to Sligo to live with her daughter and son-in-law, June and Merle Phillips. She was a member of the Congress Hill Church of God in Franklin.

Surviving are four sons, Maurice Charles Knox of Littlerock, CA, David Eugene Knox of Mobile, AL, Herbert R. Knox of Bradford, and John G. Knox of Lewis Run; five daughters, Yvetta "Betty" Peterson of Buffalo, NY, Blanche M. Crane of Texas, June K. Phillips of Sligo, Viola E. Hetrick of Armsby (sic - Ormsby) and Patricia A. Minich of Bradford; a sister Yevetta Heckathorn, Venango Manor; 30 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Charles Brown and Bud Brown; and two sisters, Lydia Dione and Huby Graham.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Huff Chapel with the Rev Jay Flagg officiating. Interment will be in Morrison Cemetery.
