KNOX, Maurice C. Dr., 92, of Bradford, Pa., formerly of Littlerock, Calif., passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Sena Kean Manor. Born in Reno, Pa., on January 8, 1915, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Cecilia (Brown) Knox. Only July 11, 1942, in Salamanca he married Miriam Wiles Knox who died in March 9, 1984. He was a 1936, graduate of Bradford High School. He entered the United States Navy on March 13, 1944, and served as a metalsmith, a Qualified Diver 2nd Class, and underwater welder. He was honorably discharged on December 9, 1945. In 1954, he graduated from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic's. For over 50 years Mr. Knox operated his practice in Littlerock, Calif., retired in 2003. He was civically involved in the community of Littlerock, he enjoyed fishing, and wood carving. He was a member of the Fin and Feather Club in Palmdale. Surviving is one daughter; Penny Miller of California, three sisters; June (Merle) Phillips of Sligo, Pa., Blanche (Ray) Crane of Zavala, Texas, and Patricia (the late Louis) Verelli of Bradford, Pa., a sister-in-law; Phyllis Knox of Mobile, Ala., and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons; Randall and Daniel Knox, one brother David Knox, two sisters Betty Peterson and Viola Hetrick. At the family's request there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2007, at First Baptist Church, Bradford, Pa., with Rev, Leon Canfield, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery in Franklin. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. Family requests donations to a charity of the donors choice.
