Mrs. Nora Viola VanLear, 69, Route 2, Waynesboro, died suddenly Friday evening while babysitting in the home of Frederick Walsh Jr., Swoope.
Widow of George Alexander VanLear, she was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mrs. VanLear was born Aug. 20, 1888, in Augusta County, daughter of the late Stuart Elmer and Willie Baber Wagner.
Survivors include one son, Clinton VanLear, Route 2, Waynesboro; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Phillip Jabbour, Roanoke; seven brothers, A. V. Wagner, Fort Defiance; R. A. Wagner, Stuarts Draft; Theodore Wagner, Astoria, Ill; Riley Wagner, Macomb, Ill; Harry Wagner, Prophettown, Ill.; and Clyde Wagner, West Palm Beach, Fla.
Body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home and will be placed in the Bethelehem Lutheran Church at 10 a. m. Monday where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. by the Rev. T. Y. Mullins. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Omar Jones, W. F. Caldwell Sr., Ray Parrott, Lee Zirkle, W. F. Coyner Jr. and Andrew Burkholder.
Honorary bearers will be Carl Parrott, Alexander Gayhart, John Showalter, Orin Kiser, Gideon Kiblinger, Luther Frank, Broaddus Powell, Wade Heatwole, Roy Simmons, Luther Simmons and Lacy Boward.
