Cledis Bybee Stevens, 99, of Bolivar, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Parkview Healthcare Facility.
She was born Jan. 25, 1904, near Preston, the daughter of Bluford and Elizabeth Smith Bybee. She graduated from Urbana High School and had attended Warrensburg Normal and Southwest Baptist College.
She had been a seamstress at Unitog Co, in Warrensburg and was a member of Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar.
On Dec. 24, 1927, in Urbana, she married Raymond Stevens. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1982.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Willa Mae and Paul Pearson of Bolivar; a sister, Gladys Breshears of Warrensburg, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 pm Saturday, February 8, at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar with Bro. James R Bybee and Bro. Jeff Julien officiating. Friends may call at the church anytime after 10:30 am Saturday. Services are under the direction of Williams Funeral Chapel of Warrensburg. Burial will follow in the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.
