DEATH CLAIMS JOSEPH OSBORN

Final rites were held May 2 from Folkestad Funeral Home for Joseph Walker Osborn, 86, who died Thursday, April 29 at the Lutheran hospital in Bemidji from complications of old age. He had been in failing health for several years. Rev. R. E. Smith officiated. Folkestad Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Osborn was born June 7, 1867, at Sparta, Wis., the son of George L. and Sarah Ann Osborn. He attended school in Ontario, Wis., and made his home in Chippewa, county, Wis., Ashland, Wis., northern Minnesota and Canada.

He was engaged in logging, lumbering, cruising and estimating of timber for many large lumber companies.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. A. E Colgrove, and Mrs. Georgia Poole, both of Park Rapids.

Pall bearers were Ray Enfield, Robert Blanchard, Loren Poole, all of Osage, Leslie Deveraux, Gordon Isaacson, and Dick Ackerman, all of Park Rapids.
Interment was in the Osage cemetery.

Singers during the funeral service were Pat Steffenson, Judy Jacobson and Nancy Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. R. E. Smith.

Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sexton and family, Pinewood, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Colgrove, Waubun, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Osborn, Warwick, N. D. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sartain, Harold Sartain, Jr., and Clark Witter, Minneapolis.
