Mederic A. Hard, a former resident of Phoenixville, died suddenly at his home in Schenectady New York, last Thursday night. He had been in poor health for some time.
Born in Vermont 50 years ago, he attended schools in that state and graduated from the University of Vermont. Later he came to Phoenixville, where he resided on Washington Avenue. He was employed by the Philadelphia Electric Company for a number of years. He was a member of the Samuel A. Whitaker American Legion Post and also a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
About six years ago, he moved to Schenectady, New York, where he was employed with the Scotia Machine and Tool Company of Scotia, New York, a suburb of Schenectady. He was connected with this concern at the time of his death.
Among the survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Hard of Arlington, Vermont; his widow the former Carolyn Kulp of Phoenixville; two sons, Ronald W. and Mederic A. Jr., and one daughter, Sarah Ann.
Funeral services will be held from the A.C. Bishop Funeral Home on Main Street Monday afternoon at 2 with the Rev. William G. Silbert pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
