Elum L. Baldwin, third son of Mary and Mahlon Baldwin, was born February 10, 1870 in VanBuren county, Iowa, and passed away September 8, 1951, at his home north of Belleville, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 28 days.


On March 15, 1891, he was united in marriage to Mary Liona Runyon at Mankato. To this union one son, Jay, was born.


Mr. Baldwin came to Kansas from Iowa on June 15, 1888, purchasing his home north of Belleville 46 years ago and living there since that time. In March he and Mrs. Baldwin celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.


He is survived by his wife, Liona of the home; one son, Jay of San Francisco; a brother, K. Baldwin of Iowa; and a sister, Anna Scott of Chicago, Ill., many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Three brothers, Stacy, Cleotis, and Jay preceded him in death.


Funeral services were conducted at Tibbetts funeral home on September 12. Interment was made in Belleville cemetery.
