MRS. HELEN D. CENTER
Mrs. Helen Dobbins Center, wife of Jackson Center, died shortly after noon yesterday at the home, 5 Talley Street, Park Place.
Mrs. Center had made Greenville her home for the past 30 years and was formerly of the Tigerville section where she was born and reared. She is well known in that section and leaves many friends to mourn her death.
Surviving are her husband, Jackson Center; three daughters, Mrs. Stafford Ballew, Mrs. Mattie Fowler and Miss Nancy Jane Center, and two sons, H.H. Center and J. Center, all of Greenville; one brother, Willis Dobbins of Tigerville; 22 grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Camp Creek Baptist Church, near Tigerville, of which Mrs. Center was a member. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Mr. Ray, and the interment will be made in the family plot in the Church cemetery.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Alton Fowler, Zeb Quinn, Calloway Miller, Paul Miller, Clarence Ballew and Joe Moon.

NOTE:
There is a discrepancy regarding her year of birth. On the 1900 census she gave her birth as July 1847. On her death certificate her age is "62.5" which would be 1868. She is however shown on the 1850 census with her parents as age 2.
