HARDY H. CENTER

Hardy H. (Jack) Center, 65, of 7 Old Bleachery Road, died at 1:43 A.M. Saturday at a local hospital following one week of illness.

He was a son of the late Jackson Center and Nancy Helen Dobbins Center and was a native of Greenville County. All of his life was spent in Greenville and for a number of years he lived in the Park Place community. He formerly operated Center's Coal and Woodyard in Parkplace.

Mr. Center was a member of Park Place Baptist Church. During World War I he served overseas with the Army.

His wife was the late Mrs. Ella Lindsey Center.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A.S. Conner of Mamaroneck, N.Y., Mrs. Wilbur Tyner of New Castle, Ind., and Miss Christine Center of Greenville; a son, Hardy H. Center Jr. of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Mattie C. Fowler of Greenville and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 A.M. at Park Place Baptist Church by Dr. John R. Wells and the Rev. William Gilbert Jr. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be D.G. Batson, T.W. Williams, Sr., Blease Waldrop, J.A. Mosteller, Belton Wiggins and Bill Mashburn.

Escort of Honor will be Sidney Williams, W.R. (Bill) Finley, Ray T. Hale, Ernest E. LaFoy and Homer Burns, J.H. Cannon and John Taylor.

The body is at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his son, 308 Orders Street, Park Place.
