Michael Fisch was born in Hessian Germany
June 6th 1831, died June 12th 1910, age
79 years 6 days.
Deceased came to this country settling
in Muscatine County Iowa 1843, there
united in marriage with Miss Eva Lang
March 6th 1852. To this union were
born eight children, four of whom are
still living, four having preceded the
father to that better land, as it now
is the river equally dividing the
family. The children now living are
Jacob of Gaza; Mrs. Catherine Gabriel
of near Deep River, Mrs. Anna Irons of
Keswick and Mrs. Carrie Maurer of Wilton
all of this state.
Father Fisch with the family moved to
Iowa county in the year 1873 living
there until 1888 when he and grandma
located in Keswick where they resided
until death released our brother from
his body of suffering.
Brother Fisch was converted to Jesus
Christ more than fifty years ago
uniting first with the M. E. church,
about fifteen years ago he with sister
Fisch united with the Methodist Prot-
estant church in Keswick. During his
Christian life he lived a consistent
Christian. Always interested in the
progress of the Gospel and the welfare
of the church. Grandpa has been a
constant sufferer for about five years,
but with it all, was always patient
and seemed to be only waiting the
summons to come home.
The deceased leaves to mourn his
departure an aged companion, the four
children above mentioned, with 22
grand children and 13 great grand
children besides a host of distant
relatives and friends.
The bereaved family have the sympathy
of the entire community in this their
hour of sorrow. The funeral was held
in the M. P. church in Keswick,
Wednesday, June 15, at 12 o'clock,
services conducted by the pastor,
James C. Leonard, assisted by Rev.
Litzrotd of Victor Iowa, after which
the body tired from pain and worn with
age was laid to rest in the old
Dresden cemetery there to await the
Resurrection morn.
