GEORGE BLAKE DIES AT HOME OF SISTER
Funeral Services Will Be Held At 3 P.M. Saturday For Norman Pioneer
Funeral services for George Blake, Cleveland county pioneer, who died this morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Fred Reed, 230 East Symmes street, will be conducted at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of another sister, Mrs. J. W. Foster, 423 North Park place by Dr. Jesse Roland Caffyn, pastor of the First Methodist church.
Death followed a severe illness of several months. Blake was 67 years old. He came to this county at the opening of the territory and homesteaded south of Norman. He was in the drugstore business in Norman a few years later. He left here 30 years ago and has lived at Arcadia and at Jones until October when he returned to Norman. He has lived with his sister, Mrs. Reed, since that time.
Surviving relatives are a daughter, Mrs. Kate Rogers, of Kaw City, two sons, George Blake, of Seminole, and Jim Blake, of Ponca City, and six sisters, Mrs. Belle Rogers, of Wynoka, Mrs. R. W. Snapp, of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. D. W. Jenkins, of Tremonton, Utah, and Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Foster and Mrs. F. B. Swank, all of Norman. Mrs. Swank, is returning to America from a European tour but will not arrive for the funeral.
