Hays -- Edmund Lawrence Pfeifer, 82, Hays, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at his home. Mr. Pfeifer was born Feb. 25, 1917, at Liebenthal.
He was a pumper and driller while living in California and worked for the Howard Hughes Company, Santa Barbara, Calif.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of the home; a daughter, Barbara McVey of Carmichael, Calif.; five sisters, Eleanor Carlisle, Gen Murphy, Florine Williams, Mary Lawler and Barbara McCallin, all of Hays; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no services. The body was cremated, and the ashes will be scattered at a later date. Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays 67601, is handling arrangements.
