She married John D. Lawler on July 8, 1939, in Hays. He preceded her in death June 17, 1998. She was a homemaker. She loved to garden, quilt and read.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Lawler Thomas and husband, Archie, Grove, Okla., Janice Lawler, Russell, and Ruth Kreller and husband, Michael, Victoria; two sisters, Gen Murphy, Kingsman, and Florrine Williams, Hays; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Lawler Jr.; a brother, Lawrence Pfeifer; two sisters, Barbara McCallion and Eleanor Carlisle; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home; burial in Mount Allen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hays Public Library or Humane Society of High Plains in care of the funeral home.
