Eleanor Carlisle, 94, Auburn, and former Hays resident, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at Homestead of Auburn, Auburn. She was born Oct. 25, 1911, in Ellis County to Andrew and Anna (Schoenfeldt) Pfeifer.
She married Hubert E. Carlisle. He preceded her in death.
She was a Senior Companion volunteer for 13 years. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Cooper, Topeka; and three sisters, Gen Murphy, Kingman, Florine Williams, Hays, and Mary Lawler, Victoria.
She was preceded in death by a son, Hubert "Bud" Carlisle; a granddaughter, Joy Dietz; a brother, Lawrence Pfeifer; and a sister, Barbara McCallion.
Private graveside services were at Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays. Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays, was in charge of arrangements.
