Stevens Point Daily Journal, Fri. Mar. 1, 1940, p. 10:1. Adolph C. Kierig, age 52, of 1309 College ave. died Thursday afternoon at 6:15 o'clock at St. Michael's hospital. He had been in ill health for the past two months and entered the hospital a month ago. Mr. Kierig was born at Campbellsport on Dec. 25, 1887, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Christ Kierig. When he was a young man he located at Fond du Lac. His marriage to Mabel Bechler of Fond du Lac took place on Oct. 1, 1924. After their marriage the couple moved to Manitowoc, and came to Stevens Point last October 1. Mr. Kierig was a car foreman for the Soo Line railroad at the time of his death and had been employed by the company for the past 27 years. Surviving are his wife, three children, Helen of St. Paul and Richard and Nancy Ann at home, his father of Fond du Lac, and six brothers and sisters, Nick Kierig of Schiller Park IL, Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Menge, Mrs. Elmer (Emma) Schneider, Miss Helen Kierig, Mrs. Stanley (Rose) Jaworski and Mrs. James (Clara) Duffy of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Ann Miller, who died in 1922, a son, Robert, and a brother, William. Mr. Kierig was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic church. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church at Fond du Lac and burial will follow in Calvary cemetery. The body is at the Crosby funeral home where the rosary will be said tonight at 8:30 o'clock. It will be taken Saturday to the Hardgrove and Gordon funeral home at Fond du Lac where the rosary will be said Saturday and Sunday nights at 8 o'clock.
